Puttu is a traditional steamed breakfast dish from Kerala, India. It is usually made with rice flour and coconut, but other ingredients like wheat, ragi (finger millet), or semolina can also be added. The ingredients are mixed together to form a dough, which is then steamed in a cylindrical steamer called puttu kutty. Puttu is usually served with kadala (black chickpeas) curry, or banana and sugar. It is a popular breakfast item in Kerala, and is also eaten in other parts of South India.
